| The Charles Schlueter Foundation Award Fund is accepting applications
for a scholarship award for students of all ages. (elementary, middle/high
school and college) The Charles Schlueter prize is an annual award of up
to $1,000 in recognition of Charles Schlueter’s long and distinguished
career in orchestral music, including his tenure as a faculty member at
the New England Conservatory of Music. The prize is awarded to the most
deserving and qualified applicant identified each year by the Foundation’s
award committee. Specific submission requirements are listed below. Students
must be involved in some form of instrumental music with a preference given
to brass/trumpet players. The award will be based on academic merit, financial
need, musical achievement and the desire to succeed. Younger students with
great potential may also apply and use the award to further instrumental
lessons.
We offer this award to honor the high standard of musicianship and commitment
to pedagogy and professionalism exemplified by Charles Schlueter throughout
his career.
To be eligible, you must be either an elementary, middle/high school
or college student who is involved in instrumental music with particular
emphasis on brass/trumpet. You must demonstrate potential in the field
of music and have need of financial assistance to further your work.
To apply, you will need to submit a completed application form,
two letters of reference, a current school transcript, and a sample of
your work. |
